The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace, Stanley Okoro-Emegha, has said that the Fulani Herdsmen that recently attacked three communities in the state boasted that they would unleash more attacks in the state.
VANTAGE NEWS reported that Obeagu community in the Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State was on Monday invaded by suspected Fulani herdsmen, who killed 16 persons who were between the ages of 18 and 56.
Reacting to the ugly incident, Okoro-Emegha, in a telephone interview with The Punch on Thursday, said the attackers made away with the phone of one of their victims, through which they said they would come back for another attack when the number was called.
“The attackers took the phone of one their victims and that number has been ringing and someone picked it and said they are still coming back again for another attack and we are not taking it lightly. So, we are tracking those numbers and their locations,” he said.
