Four persons allegedly linked to the attack on a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Charles Soludo, has been arrested by the Anambra State Police command.
The Command stated that the four persons add to the list of suspects already in custody over the attack that led to the death of three police orderlies to Soludo who is a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
VANTAGE NEWS reported that the incident took place at Isuofia Civic Center in Aguata local government area of Anambra State while Soludo was holding a town hall meeting with no fewer than 1000 people.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, the four suspects include, Mbah Victor (30) John Olisakwe (21). Chigozie Omeh (20) and Emmanuel Nnobi (28).
“The suspects confessed to have actively taken part in the attack and subsequent abduction of the Commissioner for Public and Utilities, Engr Emeka Ezenwanne, who the command is working assiduously to “Consequently efforts are still ongoing to apprehend other fleeing accomplices, unravel the circumstances surrounding the incidence and bring perpetrators book,” the PPRO said.
Tochukwu added that the state Commissioner of Police, Monday Kuryas has promised to arrest everyone responsible for he attack, adding that the security of the state remains number one objective.
