The former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has called for the arrest and prosecution of those that attacked a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Soludo.
VANTAGE NEWS reported that Soludo was attacked by unknown gunmen on Wednesday while having a town hall meeting in his hometown of Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Reacting, the former Peoples Democratic Party Vice Presidential candidate, condemned the attack, saying that political violence doesn’t have a place in the state.
He tweeted, “The reported attack on Prof Charles Soludo in which some security agents were killed stands condemned. Political violence should have no place in the democratic process in Anambra State. The Ballot and not the Bullet should determine the outcome of our elections.
“Meantime, security needs to be stepped up, and the culprits fished out and prosecuted to serve as deterrents to copycats.”
