The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) on Thursday morning commenced a nationwide industrial action.
This comes despite last minute efforts by the Federal Government to prevent the action.
In a twitter message on Thursday, the resident doctors, asked Nigerians to understand that the strike is not meant to hurt them.
The message read, “Nigerians must understand that we love them and the strike is not intended to hurt them but to challenge the Nigerian government @MBuhari @Fmohnigeria @LabourMinNG whose responsibilities amongst others is to care for her citizens and labour force to do the needful.”
President of the union, Dr Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi, confirmed to Channels TV on Thursday that the strike commenced by 8am on Thursday.
