The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has said the commission would start demanding the asset declaration forms of bankers from June 1.
Bawa disclosed this to State House correspondents in an interview after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.
According to the EFCC chair, the decision was in line with the provisions of the Bank, Employees Declaration of Asset Act.
Bawa stated further that was working tirelessly to ensure that Nigeria is free of financial crimes.
He added that the commission is hunting down cybercriminals because they are discouraging investors from investing in the country.
“The EFCC, come June 1, 2021, will be demanding for this asset declaration forms, filled by the bankers so that the line that we have drawn from June 1 is really complied with by bankers in particular,” Bawa said.
