The Ondo State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has expressed its willingness to discontinue open grazing in the state.
The group also asked the government to provide ranches in order to bring the long standing crisis between herders and farmers to an end.
This was said by the Ondo StateChairman of the association in Akure, Alhaji Bello Garba, on Wednesday.
Garba spoke during a public hearing on a bill to regulate rearing and grazing of livestock and provide for the establishment of ranches and other related matters.
According to him, Miyetti Allah will support any peaceful move aimed at resolving the crisis that has generated a lot of controversy recently.
Garba also stated that the group has been begging the Ondo State government to register all Fulani’s in the local government areas of the state.
