Again, unidentified gunmen on Wednesday morning, March 3, attacked two checkpoints of the Nigerian Police Force in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State killing at least six policemen and a soldier.
Vantage News gathered that the assailants first struck Ofotura communities, where two officers were shot and killed while another four officers were also killed at Oyadama check point. All their arms were carted away by the hoodlums.
The incident have been confirmed to be true by the spokesperson of the Cross River State Police Command, Irene Ugbo, who told Daily Trust that the officers were killed while their arms were carted away.
A Inspector, Best Okereke, a native of Imabana community in neighboring Abi Local Government Area had his fingers chopped off and was shot in the chest.
A soldier who mans another checkpoint was said to have been shot in the hand but died several hours later.
This comes barely a week after four policemen were shot dead at Idundu axis of Calabar.
