President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector-General of Police for three months.

Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi, disclosed this in an interview with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said the extension was necessary to give room for the proper selection of a successor.

VANTAGE NEWS reported that Adamu attained the statutory retirement age on Monday, February 1, 2021.

This development has angered some Nigerians who took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the President’s action.
