The Joint Action Committee comprising the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions are currently meeting with the Federal Government.

Recall that the unions announced that they would embark on a nationwide strike from February 5, 2021 over issues with the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, and the sharing formula of the N40 billion earned allowances.

The non-teaching universities staff are also protesting the non-payment of arrears of the new minimum wage, and a host of other issues.

VANTAGE NEWS learnt that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige; and top officals of the unions are present at the meeting taking place at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Abuja.

The unions had embarked a three-day protest strike earlier to register their dissatisfaction over the issues.
