The Lagos State Police Command, said it has arrested 12 suspects linked to the unrest that rocked the Surulere area of the state on Sunday, VANTAGE NEWS reports.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday, the police said the unrest led to the death of a male simply identified as Munero.
He said, “Arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects who are helping the police in their investigation.
“Munero is alleged to be a serial killer in the area and was lynched by irate youths.
“We have restored normalcy to the area,” the police officer said.
According to Adejobi, additional policemen have been deployed to the area by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Hakeem Odumosu.
Adejobi added that more arrests will be made as investigation continues.
