The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has congratulated the new American President, Joe Biden and his Vice Kamala Harris, who were both sworn-in on Wednesday.

The IPOB leader felicitated the newly inaugurated US President and Vice-President in a post on his Twitter handle shortly after the duo were sworn-in for a period of four years.

He also advised the new American leaders to remember “those yearning for freedom in Africa”.

See Kanu’s tweet below:

Kanu leads IPOB, a group championing the actualization of an independent nation of Biafra in the Eastern and some Southern part of Nigeria.

The Nigerian government had since proscribed the group, declaring them a terrorist organisation, a tag IPOB has denied.
