Inauguration Day: Trump Pardons Rappers Lil Wayne, Kodak Black

Outgoing United States President, Donald Trump, has pardoned American rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.

Wayne and Black are among over 100 people pardoned by Trump on his last full day in office ahead of Wednesday’s (today) inauguration ceremony.

Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, who is a convicted felon since 2007 pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a loaded weapon on a private jet while travelling to Miami in December 2020.

As a convicted felon, Wayne was facing 10 years in prison following his sentencing on January 28, 2021.

Wayne is a known supporter of Trump having endorsed the president through a twitter message before the November presidential election.

Similarly, Black, born Bill Kahan Kapri, has been in federal prison after pleading guilty to a firearms possession charge following his arrest in March 2020 at the Canadian-American border.
