The 15-year-old marriage between a couple identified as Faseyitan, and her husband, Kolawole was dissolved by a Customary Court sitting in Mapo, Ibadan, after the wife admitted that she used charms on her husband.
President of the court, Ademola Odunade, while delivering the judgement, asked intending couples to seek God’s approval before getting married, adding that he dissolved the marriage in the interest of peace.
Before the judgement was delivered, Faseyitan admitted she sought the services of a witch doctor to have his husband in ‘bondage and make him sick until he serves his purpose.”
She added that she wanted people to believe that it was Kolawole’s second wife that is behind his misfortunes.
”I only told the witch doctor so that people would be convinced that his second wife was responsible for the calamity that befell him,” she said.
Kolawaole, who had asked the court to dissolve the marriage because his wife was into black magic, was asked by the court to pay N6,000 monthly for the children’s upkeep after the court granted Faseyitan custody of their two children.
He told the court that he did everything for the wife and also tendered a recorded conversation between the wife and the witch doctor before the court.
