As clamour for the second impeachment of the president of the United States of America mounts, the country’s House of Representatives voted almost along party lines to call on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment of the Constitution to remove President Donald Trump from office just eight days before his term ends on January 20.
Vice President Mike Pence however told House leaders he does not support invoking the 25th Amendment process to remove his principal.
Trump who was the Mexico border wall in Texas, says that discussion of invoking the 25th Amendment “is of zero risk to me but will come back to haunt Joe Biden and the Biden administration”.
Since the Capitol Building inversion, Democrats have been leading efforts to remove Trump either through the 25th Amendment or impeachment.
Trump faces a single impeachment charge: “Incitement to insurrection”. Several Republicans have hinted they could vote to impeach him.
Reports later emerged from Axios Media that the President had privately blamed “Antifa people” for the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, even as many claims majority of the invaders were his supporters.
