The President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the killing of farm workers near Maiduguri in Borno State. Earlier, VANTAGE NEWS reported that Boko Haram fighters killed at least 43 farm workers and injured six in rice fields near Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on Saturday.
Suspected Boko Haram members reportedly executed forty-three farmers on Saturday, according to HumAngle. The news platform said the farmers were killed in Zabarmari, about 20 kilometres from Maiduguri, the Borno capital where Nigerian military has used as headquarters in the ongoing war against insurgency.
Global human rights organisation, Amnesty International, has strongly condemned the alleged beheading of 43 farmers by Boko Haram insurgents in Zarbamari village, Borno State. In a tweet, the huma rights group stated that targeting civilians shows Boko Haram’s contempt for human life.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has agreed to call of its eight-month strike which has halted academic activities in the public universities since March.
