The Nigerian Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola could be invited by the Lagos State Panel On SARS, to help decipher the mystery surrounding events at the Lekki Tollgate on the night unarmed youths were allegedly shot by the country’s military with his discovery camera.
On October 20, some youths protesting against police brutality with the hashtag #EnDSARS were shot by the military.
Ever since the incident, claims and counter claims, accusations and counter accusations, blames have been trades between the the people and government representatives as investigations are almost leading to no satisfaction of either party.
However, relief is possibly underway as on Friday, November 27, counsel to #EndSARS protesters, Adesina Ogunlana before the Lagos Panel on Restitution for Victims of SARS and Related Abuses, demanded the whereabouts of Fashola and his discovered camcorder.
Ogunlana made the demand during his cross examination of the Managing Director of Lekki Concession Company (LCC) , Abayomi Omonuwa by counsel to #EndSARS protesters.
Ogunlana made oral request to the panel for Fashola to be invited to explain what happened to the camera he was reported by the media and the social media to have found at the Lekki Toll Gate while on visit to the gate along with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and others.
