The Super Eagles of Nigeria failed to score as they played a barren draw against West African minnows in football, Sierra Leone in a 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifying encounter.

The coach Gernot Rohr-led side failed to beat the 120th ranked side over two legs after the first leg played at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City ended in an embarrassing 4-4 draw.

With this result, the team failed to win a single match in a single year for the first time in 46 years.

Maduka Okoye started in goal for the Super Eagles and had a central defensive pair of Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong protecting him from the central defensive position while Fulham star, Ola Aina, and Hoffeinham man, Kevin Akpoguna played at the left and right back positions respectively.

In the midfield were Oghenekaro Etebo, Joe Aribo, and Alex Iwobi wile the trio of captain, Ahmed Musa, Samuel Chukwueze and Kelechi Iheanacho led the attack.

With the draw, Nigeria are on 8 points, a point ahead of second placed Benin Republic that also played out a goalless draw away against Lesotho.
