The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata, has said that the NBA is not happy with turn of events in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests.

Akpata pointed out the situation of DJ Switch who streamed the shooting at Lekki live going into hiding and after receiving phone threats, the siezure of Modupe Odele’s passport which has prevented her from travelling and freezing of accounts of Rinu and other protesters by the Central Bank of Nigeria as some of the events the lawyers association are not happy with.

The NBA President, who expressed the association’s disappointment in a post on Twitter, said “This was not the deal.”

“Lawyers are not smiling about goings-on after #ENDSARS protests. @djswitch_goes into hiding after receiving phone threats, @moeodele passport seized & she can’t travel, @savvyrinu et al accounts frozen by CBN. This was not the deal. #wrongmove #breachoftrust #malafides #illwind”, Akpata wrote on Twitter.

VANTAGE NEWS reported that the youth representatives on the Lagos State Panel of Judicial Inquiry probing the alleged shooting of #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki tollgate, Oluwarinu Oduala, and Temitope Majekodunmi, boycotted sitting on Saturday in protest of the account freezing by the CBN.

Their absence frustrated proceedings and forced the Chairman of the panel to adjourn sitting.
