The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, has sworn in eight new Justices of the Supreme Court.

The new additions takes the total number of Justices of the apex court from a previous 12 to a record 20.

The new Justices include Lawal Garba (North West), Adamu Jauro (North East), M. M. Saulawa (North West), Abdu Aboki (North West), Tijani Abubakar (North East).

Others include Justices Samuel Oseji (South South), Emmanuel Agim (South South), and Helen Ogunwumiju (South West).

The new apex court Justices took the oath of office in turns as administered by the CJN, and joined the bench to sit with the already seated 12 senior colleagues.
