Manchester United legend and current Wales manager, Ryan Giggs, has been arrested by the police for allegedly assaulting an unnamed woman in his home.
According to Sun newspaper report in the UK late on Monday, police were called to the home of the Manchester United great on Sunday after reports of disturbance.
Also, the Football Association of Wales said, “The FAW is aware of an alleged incident involving the National Team Manager, Ryan Giggs. The FAW will be making no further comment at this current time.”
The 46-year-old was arrested and questioned on suspicion of actual bodily harm and assault, the newspaper said.
It was revealed that the Police were called at 10.05pm on Sunday to reports of a disturbance.
According to the report, a woman in her 30s sustained minor injuries but did not require any treatment.
Giggs was hence “arrested on suspicion of section 47 assault and section 39 common assault.”
As a result, Wales have cancelled Tuesday’s press conference where Giggs was expected to name his squad for this month’s international friendly against the USA, and the Nations League games against Finland and the Republic of Ireland.
