A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has claimed that he has video evidence to prove that soldiers killed many unarmed peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate last Tuesday.

The #EndSARS peaceful protests which went on for two weeks turned bloody on Tuesday 27th October, 2020 when men in military camouflage opened fire on unarmed protesters who were singing the national anthem and waving the Nigerian flag.

Army had since denied that it was its men that committed the crime, insisting that the soldiers did not shoot at the #EndSARS protesters. They added that the personnel who were according to then invited by the Lagos State Government to enforce curfew impose on the state acted within “the confines of the Rules of Engagement for Internal Security operations.”

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had also initially denied that anybody died during the incided but later admitted that only two people died during an interview with CNN’s Becky Anderson.

But Omokri in a video he posted on his Twitter handle on Tuesday insisted that many protesters were shot and killed by soldiers.

He said he has videos shot by drone and satellite images to prove his claims.

He also claims that the order to shoot at the protesters was given by President Muhammadu Buhari which is why no soldier has been arrested for the shootings.
