In the Chinese city of Nanjing, in the eastern province of Jiangsu, CCTV captured a woman being pushed into a reservoir by a lady police identified as her colleague.
Police report has however confirmed both women drowned from the incident.
The two women can be seen standing at the edge of a rural reservoir when the woman dressed in orange bends down to knot her shoelace.
While knotting the shoelace, the woman in black steps behind her and forcefully pushes her into the water, with both women falling in unfortunately.
The woman in orange can be seen struggling as the woman in black holds her down.
After the video quickly circulated online, Lishui Bureau of Nanjing Public Security Bureau confirmed it has opened an investigation into the incident.
Authorities has since retrieved their bodies from the reservoir.
Police say details of the incident will be released in due course and that the woman who pushed her companion had been suffering from depression.
Social media users widely speculated on what had caused the incident, dismissed police’s attempt to link the actions of the woman to her mental health.
