Strike: ASUU, Senate Leadership In Closed Door Meeting

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and other principal officers of the senate are currently holding a crucial meeting behind closed doors with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities led by its President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi.

VANTAGE NEWS learnt that the meeting would discuss the alternative designed by ASUU to the Integrated Personnel Payroll System (IPPIS) by the Federal Government for the payment of civil servants’ salaries.

ASUU has been on strike since March over disagreement to be enrolled into the IPPIS payment system. They claimed to have developed an alternative payment system that is more suitable for the universities in the country.
