The early results from the just concluded Ondo State governorship poll analysed by VANTAGE NEWS reveals that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is leading in the election.
Akeredolu is leading in the following local governments: Ile Oluji, Akoko North-East, Akoko South-West, Akoko South-East, Akoko North-West, Irele, Ose, Ifedore, Owo, Okitipupa, Akure North-West, and Idanre.
The final collation and announcement of results from the election started at exactly 12.45 am on Sunday.
The first Local Council announced was Ifedore where the Peoples Democratic Party Candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, defeated the incumbent Governor, Akeredolu, and the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Agboola Ajayi.
From the results announced so far, Akeredolu has won in Akoko North East, Akoko North West, Akoko South East, Akoko South West, Idanre, Ileoluji/Okeigbo, Irele, Ondo East, and Owo, while Iyitayo Jegede has won in Akure North, Akure South and Ifedore.
Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi is yet to win any LGA.
