Ondo 2020: IGP Deploys DIG, AIG, Others For Guber Election - Vantage News Nigeria

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Research and Planning, Adeleye Oyabade, has been deployed by the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to lead the police team saddled with the responsibility of overseeing the general security arrangement in the October 10 Ondo governorship poll.

Adamu, also deployed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Federal Operations, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Karma Hassan, and 11 Commissioners of Police to assist Oyabade in handling security issues in Ondo at the election.

This was made known by the force Spokesman, DCP Frank Mbah who explained that CP Garba Umar would be in charge of monitoring and evaluation and will be assisted by CP Habu Sani.

He listed other CPs to include, Abiodun Alabi, Bishi Omololu, Ashafa Kunle, Akeera Yonous, Buba Sanusi, Audu Madaki, Evelyn Peterside, Sadiku Gbenga, and Abutu Yaro.

It noted that the “force as well as personnel of other security agencies deployed for the election have also been charged by the IG to conduct themselves professionally and work in line with best practices as highlighted in the Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement for elections.”

He also stated that VIPs or political appointees will not be allowed to use security aides on election day.
