The names of the officers that lost their lives during last Friday’s Boko Haram attack on the convoy of Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum have been released by the State Police Command.
The names of the dead personnel were listed on Monday by the Commissioner of Police, Bello Makwashi when Zulum visited the Command Headquarters in Maiduguri, the state capital over the unfortunate incident.
Makwashi, who told Zulum that the sad news has been broken to the families of the late officers, listed their names as Mba Mathew, Ibrahim Muhammad, David Jarta, Jerry Joseph, John Barka, Elijah Gwarza, Eheboya Osaheinde, and Nura Aminu.
Speaking during the visit, Zulum expressed deep regret over the attack, and assured the wives of the late officers present that the state government will not let them down.
He assured the women of his government’s commitment to support the education of their children and their general livelihood.
The policemen alongside army officers, men of Civilian Joint Task Force, and some civilians lost their lives when the convoy of Zulum heading to Baga town was ambushed by Boko Haram.
