England drop Foden, Greenwood For Bringing Women Back To Team Hotel

Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood, were on Monday, dropped from the England national football team after breaching quarantine rules by inviting women to the team hotel in Iceland.

The Manchester City and Manchester United stars, Foden and Greenwood, made their senior international debuts in Saturday’s 1-0 UEFA Nations League win over Iceland.

Foden, 18, and Greenwood, 20, were reported on Monday to have brought two women back to the England hotel on Sunday, breaking strict isolation rules in the country regarding COVID-19.

This led to the omission of their names from the Three Lions squad that flew to Copenhagen ahead of the game against Denmark on Tuesday evening.

The duo are set to face further disciplinary actions.
