Pope Makes First Public Appearance in Six Months, Kisses Lebanese Flag, Prays For Country

Pope Francis, on Sunday, at the Vatican, made his first public appearance in six months following the outbreak of the novel corona virus pandemic.

In a short video posted by Reuters, Francis kissed a Lebanese flag and said a prayer for the country.

A massive explosion had hit the Lebanese Port in Beirut in August 4, leaving hundreds dead, thousands injured and displaced.

The explosion happened at a sensitive time for Lebanon, with an economic crisis reigniting old divisions.
