FG Releases List Of Approved Airlines Ahead Of Int’l Flights Resumption (Full List)

The federal government, through the ministry of aviation has released the list of approved airlines for operation ahead of of international flights resumption on September 5.

The Presidential Task Force (PTF), on Thursday, during the weekly briefing expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport in Abuja and the Murtala Mohammed International airport, Lagos ahead of international flights resumption.

The PTF on covid-19 had earlier inspected the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to ascertain the facility’s readiness in line with safety protocols.

Announcing the transition to the third phase of the National Response for a period of four weeks, the National Coordinator of PTF on Covid-19, Sanni Aliyu said Nigeria is steadily winning the battle against the virus.

As international flights are set to resume of Saturday, travel advisories presented by the authorities indicate that airlines whose passengers are found wanting in pre-boarding requirements at the point of entry into Nigeria risk a $3,500 fine.

In addition, travelers who show symptoms of covid 19 shall be institutionally quarantined.

International passports of travelers will also no longer be held by immigration authorities pending the outcome of their covid statuses upon arrival.

Only fourteen international airlines have been given approval to ply Nigeria’s airways, while eight were denied for several reasons by the aviation authorities.
