The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state is set for its gubernatorial primary elections today.
The election slated to hold today at Dome Centre, Akure is to be chaired by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state.
Top of the list of aspirants is the Deputy Governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi who recently fell out with the Governor and subsequently decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition party, PDP. Agboola was the Chairman of Ese-Odo local government, later elected into the House of Representatives to represent Ilaje/Ese-Odo federal constituency before going on to become the deputy to Governor Akeredolu.
Other aspirants include 2016 PDP primaries winner, Eyitayo Jegede, Boluwaji Kunlere; a lawyer and a former senator representing Ondo South, Ben Okunomo; the former spokesman of the PDP in the state, Eddy Olafeso; a staunch member of the PDP, Sola Ebiseeni; a human rights activist, lawyer, politician who represented Ondo at the World Conference of Local Authorities in Oslo Norway, 1991, Bode Ayorinde; a former member of the 8th House of Representatives, representing Owo/Ose constituency, and an industrialist Godday Erewa.
